No, you’re not having a dejavú! I am re-running some of my favorite articles and projects from the last decade of my blog. This article originally ran on December 5, 2015.
Since I posted this project, I’ve made hundreds more of these mini paintings for greeting cards! This is one of my favorite things to make.
I’ve been busy working on a project that includes mini watercolor painting greeting cards.
I’ve been making these greeting cards as thank yous for a while now, but decided to step up my production in order to gain a better understanding of watercolor, and to use the greeting cards in another project I’m working on.
Before this project, I wasn’t comfortable using watercolor and I was figuring out how to use it as I go. The paintings pictured below are not in the order I made them, but I can tell a difference between the early paintings and the later ones. Watercolor has also allowed me to explore color schemes I don’t typically use.
I started this project right around Thanksgiving, so these are things I’ve painted in the last couple of weeks.
I have about 60 cards done, and am planning to continue making cards because it’s really fun making these!
